More than ever, Milwaukeeans have been seeking out healthier dining options – and Wisconsin State Fair has noticed. This year, the State Fair is introducing more than 75 new foods, and topping the list is one that organizers say is the healthiest new fair food ever: deep fried salad on a crouton stick. A head of organically-grown iceberg lettuce is beer battered and deep fried and then served on a sturdy breadstick-like crouton.
